Artist Bio:
Isaac Gelb is a visual artist currently living in Chevy Chase, Maryland. He received his Bachelor’s degree in visual art from Bowdoin college in 2023, studying painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, and installation art. In its stylistic diversity, Gelb’s art encourages curiosity and creativity by subjecting recognizable images to further investigation, deconstruction, and abstraction. In his work Gelb references a range of interests, including cinema, fashion, geometry, linguistics, architecture, sports, and religion. Gelb currently works with multiple young adult clients with disabilities as a personal support staff and employment coach, facilitating social, professional, and daily living skills. He has shown artwork in several Bowdoin exhibitions and has been featured in Bowdoin’s arts magazine. Since returning to Maryland in 2023 Gelb has continued painting and drawing persistently. He recently showed work in his first local art fair and hopes to stay involved and active in the arts as his career progresses.
